When Odoo is the right answer
When you have several entities or locations, a manufacturing workflow to model, or a process specific enough that it has to be built rather than chosen. Odoo will get there and Bizsoftbiz will not — Bizsoftbiz has no production orders, no multi-company and no multi-location, and none of those are close.
When it is not
When you run one shop and what you actually need is a till that keeps the books. Configuring an ERP is a project, and for a single-site business the project frequently costs more than the problem.
What "opinionated" means in practice
Bizsoftbiz decides the things you would otherwise spend a week deciding. A 139-account manufacturing chart of accounts is provisioned when your store is created. Costing is weighted average. The ledger posts automatically and journal entries are immutable. You can add accounts and compose roles, but you cannot restructure how posting works — which is the reason it works the same on day one as on day four hundred.
