Double-entry accounting that posts itself
Most point of sale systems give you a sales report and leave the bookkeeping to someone else. Bizsoftbiz keeps a genuine double-entry general ledger underneath the till, and every transaction writes to it as it happens.
Every sale writes a journal entry
When a sale completes, Bizsoftbiz posts the entry in the same database transaction: revenue, sales tax, the tender account, and the cost of goods relieved against inventory at the cost snapshotted on the line at the moment of sale. Refunds post the exact mirror. Goods receipts, stock adjustments and count variances post too. There is no nightly sync to go wrong and nothing to re-key.
- Sales, refunds, purchase receipts and stock movements all post automatically
- Cost of goods comes from the cost captured at sale time, so repricing an item never rewrites last month’s margin
- A posted journal entry is immutable — corrections are new reversing entries, never edits
- The ledger runs for every store whether or not the accounting workspace is purchased
A manufacturing chart of accounts, as a tree
Every store is provisioned with 139 accounts on creation: current assets, inventories split into raw materials, work in process, packing materials and finished goods, property plant and equipment, intangibles, current and non-current liabilities, equity, revenue, cost of sales split into direct materials, direct labour and factory overhead, and administrative, selling, finance and tax expense. Group headings cannot be posted to, so no balance can sit in two places at once.
Journals, ledgers and a trial balance you can tie out
Browse the journal, open any account’s ledger folio, and run a six-column trial balance for any period. A control-account reconciliation panel puts each control balance beside the records behind it — receivables against open invoices, payables against open bills, inventory against the stock valuation, fixed assets against the register — so a difference surfaces as a finding rather than sitting undetected.
A period you can actually close
Lock a period so nothing can be posted into it, run a year-end close against retained earnings, and reopen if you have to — reopening cascades forward, reversing every close on or after the month you reopen, so the lock and the close register can never disagree about whether a year is filed.
Questions, answered
Is this real double-entry, or just categorised transactions?
Real double-entry. Every entry is validated to balance to the cent before it is accepted, and the posting function is the only thing in the system permitted to write to the ledger tables. An entry that does not balance is refused, not corrected.
Do I need an accountant to use it?
No, for the day-to-day. The entries that matter most — sales, refunds, purchases, stock movements — post on their own with no input from you. You need someone who knows accounting to set an opening balance, close a year, or code an unusual expense, and everything they need to do that is in the workspace.
Can I export to my accountant?
Every statement, ledger and report exports to Excel and PDF. The Excel exports keep numbers as numbers with currency cell formats, so figures can be summed and pivoted rather than retyped.

Selling on account is where small businesses lose money quietly. Bizsoftbiz tracks what you are owed and what you owe as real documents, ages them, and produces the statement you send to chase them.

The usual arrangement is a till in the shop, accounting software in the back office, and a person moving numbers between them. Bizsoftbiz removes the gap by making them the same system.
