Which stock earns its shelf space
Turnover, GMROI, sell-through, ABC class and stock aging for every product — plus a movement block showing what you opened with, bought, sold and closed on.
ABC by gross profit, not revenue
The textbook ranks by revenue only because most systems do not know their cost of goods. This one does, per line, at the moment of sale — so class A is what actually makes you money rather than what merely turns over the most cash.
Turnover and GMROI against a two-point average
Both divide by the average of inventory value at the start of the window and now, not by today’s stock. Dividing by today’s figure makes turnover meaningless for anything seasonal: buy in October, sell in December, and a January reading divides a quarter of cost of goods by an empty shelf.
Blank, never zero
Where nothing was held, turnover, GMROI and sell-through are shown as blank rather than as zero. Zero reads as "turns over badly"; the truth is that there was nothing there to turn over, and every sort puts those rows last for the same reason.
Opening, purchases, sold and closing
Each as a quantity and a value, with a residual adjustments column so the quantities tie by construction. Opening is valued at the cost in force then rather than today’s average, and purchases at what was invoiced on each receipt rather than the average — so the purchases figure can be reconciled against a supplier statement.
Dead stock and markdowns
Find what has not sold, and propose a markdown into the same approval queue price changes already use. A proposed markdown is floored at cost — clearing below cost is a legitimate decision, but one a person should take deliberately rather than approve out of habit.

What to order, worked out from what actually sold
A reorder point that was typed in once and never revisited is a guess. Bizsoftbiz computes one per product from your own trading history and the supplier’s lead time.
Read moreEvery unit, accounted for
When a stock figure looks wrong, the question is always what happened. The movement ledger answers it directly.
Read moreInventory that reconciles, to the unit
Stock figures are only useful if you can explain how they got there. Every movement in Bizsoftbiz is an append-only ledger row with a running balance and the cost in force at the time.
